September

September. This plan of trying to get an entire month into a blog post...it's not the best. At least some blogging is happening, I guess.

Here we go! So Labor Day weekend was a bit of lake time celebrating Aunt Michelle's birthday.
And a bit of Canada time celebrating Catherine and Joe, the birthday buddies.
It was a short school week because the teachers had some training days...
we took advantage of the girls being home and made a trip to the zoo.
Looking back on these pictures...they are already looking older now, just three months later.
And while they still enjoy it, we took them to the Children's Museum in Indy. So soon - maybe 6 years, if we're lucky - no one will care if we take them to this magical place anymore. As long as they love this place, we'll keep finding the space in our budget and on our calendar to take them. We love playing with them, watching them learn, letting them be little. And every children's museum we've ever visited has made us slow down enough to truly BE with our people.
September is the perfect time to go apple picking! So we did.
And beer tasting. So we did.
Sarah met two "celebrities" at the beer tasting event we (no kids) went to! One of the Scott Brothers and Ryan Gosling! (Do you see the resemblance!?!?)
September is also perfect for hikes at Pokagon. Followed by a delicious meal at Caruso's. You guessed it, we did that, too.
It's not a bad month for losing teeth...
...but there's just no good month for finding that your tomato plants have been attacked!
In our house, September wraps up with the county fair, donuts, rides, parades, and Mini 4-H projects. The two oldest took photography this year. Next year Miriam won't be in Mini anymore! And just a side note on these rides: Sometimes Mommy can't even watch the girls on the big ones! She closes her eyes and Daddy laughs while they swing around in the sky screaming. They always claim to love it, but Mommy just can't love it for them.
The Grand Finale of September is Tim's birthday. This year we went to Fr. John's in Bryan, Ohio. So delicious and the atmosphere is unlike anything else.
Try it soon. Because every month is for little adventures with your favorite people.
