June

June! Are you the best month? Probably. Summer officially arrives, the flowers are blooming, school is out.
Mother's Day Lily
Twins!! First clematis bloomed together!
Hens and Chicks went wild this year!
NEW to the family: Bobo Hydrangea
Miriam went on her first overnight summer camp. It was strange to have her gone for a few nights! We missed her and made sure to celebrate when we picked her up from 4-H Camp with a stop for ice cream. She was full of new songs, stories about canoeing, climbing rock walls, eating camp food, making new friends, learning new games, and just more mature from the independence she enjoyed. Took care of her own showers, doing her own hair, keeping her space tidy, making sure she was ready for the next activity with her group...it was all so good for her!
We also got to the zoo several times this month with friends and Aunt Bridget and the cousins. But Vivian and Felicity had the most zoo time a their Zoo Camp. It's a five-day day camp which is extra special because Aunt Maria is one of the camp counselors!
We had Vacation Bible School in June. This was Mommy's fifth year leading it. Daddy is always on hand for set up, managing all the technology during VBS, and tear down. The girls participate and Simon sweet talks the kitchen volunteers who feed him every bit of candy they can. By the end of the week, he just walked right into the kitchen, stood next to Judy (the grandmother of that group), and waited until she passed him whatever sweets were up on the counter to be added to the snack. And he had popcorn with Daddy most days! He was a happy kiddo.
Smack-dab in the middle of June, Uncle John (Sarah's youngest brother) married Ande! Felicity, John's goddaughter, was a flower girl...always a dream come true for a little girl! We all love our new sister/aunt!!
Three beautiful sisters at the rehearsal dinner.
Setting up the hall with soon-to-be Aunt Ande!
Aunt Maria gave Felicity a beautiful up-do!
Ready for the wedding!
Simon's favorite part of every wedding we attend is the band or DJ. He parks himself at the front of the stage and watches like its a private concert.
June also means Strawberries in the Park - a downtown hometown event with crafts, clowns, and treats. It's really the best! Along the way we saw a little wheel barrow art project made by the girls' art teacher!
During our quieter June days, the girls worked on their 4-H projects. Vivian made no bake cookies for her last Mini 4-H project. The family was happy to enjoy all the practice cookies she made! Felicity took her first Mini-4-H project this year - sewing - and loved working the machine on her own!!
Miriam got several one-on-one cake decorating lessons from Aunt Maria and enjoyed practicing this new, yummy skill.
June wrapped up with an unbelievably hot (especially when you're six months pregnant) camping trip with Mommy's extended family. Most days were about 100 degrees and the nights may have dipped into the 70s.
At least babies can be naked to stay cool.
Vivian got to zipline during this camping trip! She did great and had so much fun. Felicity and Simon were too little, Sarah too pregnant, and Miriam hurt (broke) her wrist rough housing the day before and couldn't go.
The heat and the broken wrist were a rocky end to an otherwise pretty perfect month!
